Congolese singer Koffi Olomide, real name Antoine Agbepa Mumba, has been found guilty of the statutory rape of one of his dancers.
A French court handed the crooner a two-year suspended jail sentence on March 18 for sexually assaulting the dancer when aged 15.
The ruling was made in absentia as the controversial singer failed to attend the court session.ges.
According to BBC, Olomide was also ordered to pay fine of the same amount for assisting three women enter France illegally.
According to the allegations, the assaults occurred both in DRC and France including a villa outside Paris. The women further claimed that they were held at the villa against their will.
Initially, prosecutors were seeking a seven-year sentence but the charges were reduced after the court dismissed the assault and kidnapping charges
