Mother forgets baby at airport, flight forced to return
A mother forgot her baby in the waiting area of the terminal and boarded her flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, completely unaware that she may be carrying one item less. She realised her baby was not with her only after the flight took off.
Flights can return to the airport in case of an emergency, but pilots were unsure of the protocol to be followed for such an instance. The pilot then asked the air traffic controller if they can “come back or what?”.
“This flight is requesting to come back, a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” the pilot can be heard saying in a video which has gone viral since then.
“We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight”, the pilot is heard as saying when asked to reconfirm the reason to turn the flight back. Admitting that the incident was “a new one” for them, air traffic controllers eventually cleared the flight to return.
The mother and baby were reunited at the airport.
