Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa might have created another problem for herself after picking Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen as her lawyer.

Murkomen has never been a friend of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, and has always been criticising its members including party leader Raila Odinga and his deputy Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Jumwa and Dori settling on him for their appeal would not have landed well in ODM. They might have interpreted it as a ridicule to them considering the kind of relationship Murkomen has with ODM.

On Wednesday, Murkomen was dismissed after he filed an appeal for his clients Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori on against the ODM party’s decision to expel the MPs.

ODM party dismissed his appeal on grounds that there exists no mechanisms to enable the appeal of the decision of the ODM National Executive Committee to the National Governing Council.

“The section quoted in your letter on “appeal to NGC” does not exist in the ODM Party constitution,” read a section of the ODM letter to Murkomen.

The letter goes further urging Murkomen to ask his clients, Jumwa and Dori, to revisit ODM terms and conditions for their own future benefits.

“We strongly suggest that you and your clients take time to familiarize yourself with the constitution and rules governing the Orange Democratic Movement to save yourself from such ignorant misapprehension in future,” stated the later in part as shared on Twitter.

The rebel MP would have chosen a neutral lawyer to represent them.
