WHY DO EDUCATED PEOPLE DON’T DO WELL FINANCIALLY AS COMPARED TO UNEDUCATED?

Yesterday, I had an encounter that made me reflect on why so many “educated” guys with Degrees usually do not do well financially as compared to the “uneducated” fellows.
I had parked right opposite Shujaa Mall and was getting some Kuku for the New Year. The guy that sells Kuku there had a special New Year offer and was selling for only 500 bob.
As the Kuku was being prepared, I was approached by two Sudanese. Apparently the parking is used by Taxis, and it was empty since many of them took the New Year Break, or were still asleep after working overnight.
The Sudanese guys told me “Njuguna, tupeleke pale Diwopa tuchukue kitu, uturudishe hapa”. They thought I was a regular Taxi guy- Mwangi.
At first, I thought “What!!” How dare these guys think that I’m a taxi guy!!! Then I shrugged off the thought and told them “Mia Sita”, and they hoped in. I took them to Diwopa Catholic Church, they picked the stuff, and then dropped them at Nasra Estate. Within 20 minutes I made sh 600 bob.
The encounter brought to mind one thing that keeps many Graduates from making it in life.
Once one puts on that Gown, they suddenly acquire some “Status” and look down upon some things.
On the other hand, guys without “Education” do not let anything pass them. They sweat it out shamelessly and make good money.
Many would rather toil in poor paying jobs than work on some rewarding Juakali enterprise. Many cannot even think of taking up Agri-Business. Many cannot even step in Markiti or Muthurwa. They would rather spend months hunting for jobs, that will under pay them.
The difference is attitude.
To young men and women out there- Pesa ni Pesa. You may never apply what you studied in Campus or College- get out there and do whatever your hands get to do.
Usichague.
