Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has congratulated NTV news anchor Mark Masai after Friday night’s roundtable meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Head of State who his in Mombasa for his holiday hosted journalists from all media houses to address on issues on his Big Four Agenda and also his fight against corruption.

During the meeting, NTV’s new anchor Mark Masai answered the President about the country’s rate of borrowing.

However, the President applied an evasive tactic of answering a hard question with another question, something known with most politicians.

President Kenyatta wanted to use Japan as an example to explain to Mark why Kenya’s borrowing is not an issue.

Here is their conversation:

President Kenyatta: Do you know what the debt of the Japanese government is?

Mr Masai: I’m not really concerned about Japan.**President Kenyatta: Do you know what the Kenyan debt is?

Mr Masai: As I said, right now it’s something between Sh4.5 to Sh4.8 trillion

President Kenyatta: No, no, no as a percentage of the GDP [gross domestic product], talk like an economist.

Mr Masai: 56 per cent of GDP

President Kenyatta: What is Japan’s debt?

Mr Masai: I’m not in Japan so I’m not interested in Japan but Kenya

President Kenyatta: Japan’s debt is over 100 per cent of the GDP

Mark’s courageous responses to the President excited Miguna, who posted on twitter thanking him for being bold.

“Thanks, Mark Masai: The Japanese Government does not plunder its economy; it provides services to its people. The Japanese PM accounts fully for both its debt and revenues to the Japenese. The tyrant @UKenyatta loots Kenya’s economy, murders her citizens and steals elections,” posted Miguna.

Miguna has been a great critic of President Uhuru and his government ever since being deported twice early this year.
